Karate is a martial art style which concentrates on neutralizing
an aggressor's attack swiftly by utilizing rapid precise strikes,
kicks, throws and joint manipulations. Karate is considered a "hard
style" meaning that it primarily uses strikes to affect self
defense techniques. This style is extremely effective in a confrontation
which requires street self defense. Karate focuses on disabling
the opponents ability to continue to attack through the use of pressure
points and well placed strikes. The training concentrates on developing
self confidence, greater emotional focus, self esteem, self control
and self defense skills through physical and mental training. Our
dojo is a free form dojo meaning that we focus on utilizing each
students strengths and developing their weaknesses, rather than
forcing students to simply adhere to a set of standardized forms.
The fact that we are a full contact dojo ensures that student will
gain proficiency in defending themselves even under the worst of
conditions, and there is no cooperation from other students to "make"
techniques work
In the day and age of TV and video games it is especially important
that members of this society get out and exercise. The Martial Arts
is the only sport or form of exercise that could possibly save your
life in a dire situation. This is while working out every part of
the mind and the body and their interconnectivity.
The Martial Arts are great for all ages. It is the only all-encompassing
art form. It is self-defense, sports, rhythm, dance, choreography,
yoga, meditation, physics, science, math, and forces one to be creative
in problem solving.
