For the 1st -3rd graders the martial arts develop hand and
eye coordination in a way that no other sport can. They begin to
understand what it means to strive for goals and achieve them resulting
in self-confidence that will sustain them through adult hood.
For 4th 6th graders, the martial arts sharpen reflexes
and hand and eye coordination that can later be used in sports.
They develop camaraderie with their fellow students, while encouraging
the individual to grow where the only competition is bettering oneself.
And of course this also results in self-confidence.
For the 6th 8th graders they are in a time of change.
This is a critical point in their lives as they start to see the
different options they will have as adults. Do they work hard try
to get into a good college, or do they give up early, play video
games, watch TV cause they feel that doing their homework is just
not worth it. For this age the Martial arts serves as an anchor.
It is a distilled way of learning to discipline their way though
hard times. They work hard, and see that it is worth it in the end.
This confidence will help them through the trials and tribulations
on their way to adult hood.
If they stick with it, employers and college recruiters instantly
recognize a disciplined and hard working person when they see Brown
or Black Belt on their resume. Teens also need to get exercise,
if they dont get it here please make sure that they are getting
it somewhere.
