I use Oil on canvas when I want to paint large. My Oil paintings are usually more diffused and soft, with a thicker blended look.

$4 for per square inch

I use a collection of water media (acrylic, watercolor, color pencil, etc.) for paintings that usually do not exceed 24” x 36”, the look can be cleaner and tighter. I also have fun with effects that the different paints offer, making for a more original look. I can also paint in each media by itself, i.e. Watercolor, if prefered.

$35 to $200 per drawing

I also do quick charcoal drawings for an affordable price. I charge by the hour for Charcoal drawings. I can time the process to fit the price of the commission. They are usually done on Brown paper with white and black charcoal, or just black charcoal on white paper.

What I need from you to get started on a commission

Commonly these commissions are to commemorate someone’s love for a person, place, or thing. Whether it be their home, portrait of a loved one, or a landscape from a favorite place to visit (personally I love Hawaii and Lake Tahoe). Within this process, I usually have little or no conceptual involvement except for compositional and color decisions. Preferably, the customer will have a photograph of what they would like depicted. If the reference material is adequate, expect the rate of $2 per inch.
I am quite happy to make subtle changes in composition, and color without extra charge, but if major improvisation is needed the rate may increase.
I have a wealth of reference from Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, and The San Francisco Bay Area, and I also have many flowers to work from. If you have a particular interest I will be happy to send you a collection of photographs to choose from.
These commissions are available as oils, water media, or charcoal drawings. Depending on the subject matter you desire, I may recommend a process if you are undecided on a certain medium
